The company was founded in 1988 by John Evershed and Deirdre O'Malley in San Francisco, California. Before Mondo Mini Shows, the company initially created content for various tech companies, before developing two video games, Critical Path in 1993 and The Daedalus Encounter in 1995, under the name Mechadeus.
