Barrett is a city in Grant County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 415 at the 2010 census. Barrett was platted in 1887. The community was named for General Theodore H. Barrett. A post office has been in operation at Barrett since 1887. Barrett was incorporated as a city in 1889. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 2.11 square miles (5.46 km2), of which 2.09 square miles (5.41 km2) is land and 0.02 square miles (0.05 km2) is water.
