Coupvray (French:  (listen)) is a commune in the Seine-et-Marne department in the Île-de-France region in north-central France. Coupvray was the birthplace and home of Louis Braille. Braille's home is now a museum. Braille's hands are buried in Coupvray as a symbol of Louis’ system of touch reading, the rest of his body is buried in the Panthéon, Paris. The Castle of Rohan, built over the period 1596–1602 by Hercule de Rohan, Duke of Montbazon, is another visitor attraction, although it is now mostly in ruins. Disneyland Resort Paris is also nearby.
