La Montagne is a French language regional daily newspaper based in Clermont-Ferrand, France. The title was selected to reflect its alignment with the ideas of the Montagnards of the French Revolution. The paper has been in circulation since 1919. La Montagne was established as an independent socialist publication by Alexandre Varenne in 1919. He also served as the editor-in-chief of the paper which is headquartered in Clermont-Ferrand. La Montagne was censored during World War II when France was occupied by the German forces, and the paper was suspended on 27 August 1943.
