Nottinghamshire (/ˈnɒtɪŋəmʃər, -ʃɪər/; abbreviated Notts.) is a ceremonial and non-metropolitan county in the East Midlands, England. A landlocked county, it is bordered by South Yorkshire to the north-west, Lincolnshire to the east, Leicestershire to the south, and Derbyshire to the west. The most-populated settlement is the City of Nottingham, which is administered as a unitary authority area.
