Winkel is a municipality in the district of Bülach in the canton of Zürich in Switzerland. Winkel has an area of 8.1 km2 (3.1 sq mi). Of this area, 45.1% is used for agricultural purposes, while 27.5% is forested. Of the rest of the land, 21.1% is settled (buildings or roads) and the remainder (6.4%) is non-productive (rivers, glaciers or mountains). Winkel has a population (as of 31 December 2020) of 4,648. As of 2007, 11.3% of the population was made up of foreign nationals. Over the last 10 years the population has grown at a rate of 23.5%.
