Twenty-three of On Kawara's Date Paintings, one from each year since 1966—the year he began executing them—were juxtaposed with twenty-three artworks executed in the same time span by artists of local, national and international stature, demonstrating Kawara's remarkably acute and unsettling persistence towards marking his mortal placement in the infinitely larger span of time. This exhibition is organized in collaboration with Portikus, Frankfurt, West Germany, and the Institute of Contemporary Art, Nagoya, Japan.
