Action on Addiction is a UK-based charity that works with people affected by drug and alcohol addiction. It works in the areas of research, prevention, treatment, aftercare, as well as professional education and family support. The Princess of Wales has been patron since January 2012. The charity merged with The Forward Trust in May 2021. The charity was formed in 2007 by the merger of three charities: the Chemical Dependency Centre (established in 1985), Clouds (established in 1987) and the original Action on Addiction (established in 1989).
