Addison County is a county located in the U.S. state of Vermont. As of the 2020 census, the population was 37,363. Its shire town (county seat) is the town of Middlebury. Iroquois settled in the county before Europeans arrived in 1609. French settlers in Crown Point, New York extended their settlements across Lake Champlain.
