Alloway Township is a township in Salem County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. As of the 2020 United States census, the township's population was 3,283, a decrease of 184 (−5.3%) from the 2010 census count of 3,467, which in turn reflected an increase of 693 (+25.0%) from the 2,774 counted in the 2000 census. What is now Alloway was formally incorporated as Upper Alloways Creek Township by a Royal charter granted on June 17, 1767, from portions of the now-defunct Alloways Creek Township. The township was formally incorporated by an act of the New Jersey Legislature on February 21, 1798. Quinton Township was formed from portions of the township on February 18, 1873.
