The Australian Petroleum Production and Exploration Association, known as APPEA, is an Australian industry association representing companies which explore and produce oil and gas in Australia. APPEA is a non-profit organisation. The organisation was originally established in 1959 and previously used the acronym APEA (Australian Petroleum Exploration Association). It is the peak national body representing the collective interests of the upstream oil and gas exploration and production industry. The association has more than 80 full member companies that explore for and produce Australia's oil and gas resources. APPEA also represents more than 250 associate member companies that provide a wide range of goods and services to the upstream oil and gas industry.
