Ariane Sherine (born 3 July 1980) is a British musical stand-up comedian, comedy writer, author, novelist and journalist. She created the Atheist Bus Campaign, which ran in 13 countries during January 2009. Sherine has written more than 75 columns for The Guardian's Comment & Debate section, and has also written for The Observer, The Spectator, The Sunday Times, The Independent, Independent on Sunday, Esquire magazine, NME, and New Humanist. She was expelled from school aged 16, and spent her late teens hanging out with the band Duran Duran at their studio.
