The Boring Company (TBC) is an American infrastructure and tunnel construction services company founded by Elon Musk. Its ongoing and proposed projects are designed for intra-city ("loop") transit systems, which are all-electric, zero-emissions, and high-speed underground public transportation systems that shuttle passengers to their destination without an intermediary stop. TBC has completed projects that are located in both Nevada and California. Notably, TBC completed the Las Vegas Convention Center Loop (LVCC), which is a three-station transportation system consisting of 1.7 miles of tunnels that was built in approximately one year. It reduced a 45-minute cross-campus journey time to approximately two minutes. Currently, the LVCC operates for travel during conventions. The Resorts World-LVCC Connector is in its final phase of construction and will provide a convenient and direct connection between Resorts World on the Las Vegas Strip and the multiple exhibition halls at the Las Vegas Convention Center. The approximate travel times for the Resorts World Connector will vary between 1 to 4 minutes, contingent on the destination. The Las Vegas Loop is a 29 mile tunnel network whose construction was unanimously approved on October 20, 2021 by Clark County Commissioners. The Las Vegas Loop will enable riders to take trips in 3 minutes, instead of the conventional 30 minutes during peak hours to select destinations in the city. Tunnel passengers are chauffeured in Tesla Model-3 vehicles that are steered by a driver while the company pursues autonomous driving permits. Residents and visitors may also take advantage of TBC’s completed transportation systems. More information...
