It is a suffragan diocese in the ecclesiastical province of the metropolitan Archdiocese of Hartford. The Diocese of Bridgeport includes all of Fairfield County, Connecticut and has 82 parishes. Its cathedral is St. Augustine Cathedral in Bridgeport. As of 2023, the diocese is led by Bishop Frank Caggiano. The Diocese of Bridgeport is one of 195 dioceses in the United States.
