Bühler is a municipality in the canton of Appenzell Ausserrhoden in Switzerland. Bühler is first mentioned in 1479 as Ullrich Büllershoff. Bühler has an area, as of 2006, of 5.6 km2 (2.2 sq mi). Of this area, 62.7% is used for agricultural purposes, while 26% is forested. Of the rest of the land, 10.6% is settled (buildings or roads) and the remainder (0.7%) is non-productive (rivers, glaciers or mountains).
