Choceň (Czech pronunciation: [ˈxotsɛɲ]; German: Chotzen) is a town in Ústí nad Orlicí District in the Pardubice Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 8,500 inhabitants. Villages of Březenice, Dvořisko, Hemže, Nová Ves, Plchůvky and Podrážek are administrative parts of Choceň. Nová Ves and Plchůvky form an exclave of the municipal territory. The name is derived from the personal name Chocen, meaning "Chocen's (court)". Choceň is located about 13 kilometres (8 mi) west of Ústí nad Orlicí and 31 kilometres (19 mi) east of Pardubice.
