Chvalšiny (German: Kalsching) is a municipality and village in Český Krumlov District in the South Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 1,200 inhabitants. The centre is well preserved and is protected by law as an urban monument zone. Villages of Borová, Červený Dvůr and Hejdlov are administrative parts of Chvalšiny. Chvalšiny lies about 9 kilometres (6 mi) northwest of Český Krumlov and 23 km (14 mi) southwest of České Budějovice. Chvalšiny is located in the Bohemian Forest Foothills.
