Namerikawa (滑川市, Namerikawa-shi) is a city in eastern Toyama Prefecture, Japan. As of 1 November 2021, the city had an estimated population of 33,045 in 12674 households and a population density of 605 persons per km2. Its total area was 54.63 square kilometres (21.09 sq mi). The coast of Namerikawa is the habitat of the world famous glowing firefly squid (ほたるいか, hotaru-ika), which surface yearly in a phenomenon that has been designated a Special Natural Monument by the Japanese government.
