Cambridge University Association Football Club is an English football club representing the University of Cambridge. It is affiliated to the Football Association as the Cambridge University FA, and has representation on the FA Council equivalent to a County Football Association. Official university publications have claimed that the club was formed in 1856, being also recognised as such by The Football Association. The FA awarded Cambridge a plaque in 2006 in honour of its "150th anniversary", giving its foundation date official recognition.
