Damien Carême (born 16 November 1960) is a French politician of La France Insoumise. He has been serving as a Member of the European Parliament since 2019 and was re-elected in 2024. A former member of the Socialist Party (PS), Carême served as mayor of Grande-Synthe from 2001 until 2019. During his time in office, he worked with Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) on constructing the first purpose-built camp in France to provide proper, humanitarian-standard shelter to about 2,500 refugees in response to the French government's closure of the port of Calais during the European migrant crisis in 2016.
