The Monterays were a rock band from Syracuse, New York, United States. The group was active from 1962 to 1969 and 1978 to 2019. The original band members included Jack Abert, John Wisnewski, Larry Landry, and Jack Holton, later replaced by Tommy Forrest. They were inspired by The Beach Boys and surf music. The Monterays developed a significant following, leading them to record several singles. Despite various member changes and a hiatus, the band made a significant mark on the New York music scene, especially when they opened for the Beach Boys in 1966.
