Dassel is a city in Meeker County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 1,469 at the 2010 census. Dassel was platted in 1869, and named for Bernard Dassel, a railroad official. A post office has been in operation at Dassel since 1869. Dassel was incorporated in 1878. According to the United States Census Bureau, Dassel has an area of 1.72 square miles (4.45 km2), of which 1.63 square miles (4.22 km2) is land and 0.09 square miles (0.23 km2) is water.
