Döttingen (German: [ˈdœtɪŋən]) is a municipality in the district of Zurzach in the canton of Aargau in Switzerland. Some items from the Neolithic period and two Roman-era estates have been discovered in Döttingen. The modern municipality of Döttingen is first mentioned in 1239 as Totingen. Until the 19th Century it was also known as Grossdöttingen. The monastery of Sankt Blasien Abbey in the Black Forest had large estates in Döttingen and possessed a manor house in the village.
