Dolní Němčí (until 1925 Dolněmčí) is a municipality and village in Uherské Hradiště District in the Zlín Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 2,900 inhabitants. The name Němčí is probably derived from Němci (i.e. "Germans") and refers to the first settlers of the area. The adjective dolní means "lower". Dolní Němčí is located about 14 kilometres (9 mi) southeast of Uherské Hradiště and 29 km (18 mi) south of Zlín. It lies in the Vizovice Highlands. The first written mention of Němčí is from 1261.
