Estépar is a municipality located in the province of Burgos, Castile and León, Spain. According to the 2004 census (INE), the municipality had a population of 797 inhabitants. Estépar is the site of multiple mass graves, discovered by the Association for the Recovery of Historical Memory in 2014. Initial reports referred to the graves containing the remains of at least 70 republicans who were killed by nationalists in August–September 1936 during the Spanish Civil War. More information...
