It was advertised as "the world's first $9 computer". CHIP and related products are discontinued. NTC has since gone insolvent. Next Thing Co. was an Oakland, California, based start-up company founded in 2013 by Dave Rauchwerk, Gustavo Huber and Thomas Deckert.
