Habari /həˈbɑːri/ was a free and open source blog engine written in PHP and currently supports MySQL, SQLite and PostgreSQL for the database backend. It got its name from the Swahili greeting habari, which means "(what's the) news". The last release was on September 16, 2014. The Habari website is no longer working, but the source code is still available on the project's GitHub page. The Habari project was started in October 2006 to develop a modern blogging platform. The focus is on utilizing current technology, such as PHP 5, PHP Data Objects, and object-oriented programming, and the support of modern standards, such as the Atom Publishing Protocol.
