Halže (German: Hals) is a municipality and village in Tachov District in the Plzeň Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 1,000 inhabitants. Villages of Branka, Horní Výšina and Svobodka are administrative parts of Halže. Halže is located about 5 km (3 mi) northwest of Tachov and 56 km (35 mi) northwest of Plzeň. The municipality lies on the border with Germany and is adjacent to German municipalities of Bärnau and Mähring. It lies in the Upper Palatine Forest mountain range.
