Hartville is a village in northern Stark County, Ohio, United States. The population was 3,329 at the 2020 census. It is part of the Canton–Massillon metropolitan area. Hartville lies halfway between Akron and Canton at the intersection of State Routes 43 and 619. Hartville was founded by settler John Morehart in 1818 and first platted in 1851. Its name is likely a portmanteau of the surnames of Morehart and fellow settler John Willis. Hartville was incorporated as a village in 1951.
