Hpnotiq (pronounced "hypnotic") is an alcoholic beverage. It is native to New York, but bottled in France by Heaven Hill Distilleries, made from fruit juices, vodka and cognac. It is 34 proof (17% ABV) and is available in over 70 countries. Hpnotiq was created in 2001 by Raphael Yakoby, a college dropout living with his parents on Long Island, New York. After seeing a blue perfume at Bloomingdale's, he decided to create a blue liqueur. Raphael Yakoby raised money to start the new company receiving $200,000 from his brother Solomon Yakoby who in return received a 50% ownership in the company.
