The airfield is conjoined with the Husein Sastranegara air force base of the Indonesian Air Force. The airport is located in the city of Bandung and is surrounded by mountains, thus the landing approach has unique characteristics. This airport runway can handle various aircraft now and in the past, Airbus A320 series, Boeing 737, certain types of Boeing 757 and Boeing 767 (200) series and even Boeing C-17A Globemaster III.
