OOO Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Rus is an automobile manufacturer based in Sestroretsk, Russia. The company is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the South Korean Hyundai Motor Company and is considered to be the first full-fledged automobile plant of a foreign automobile plant in the Russian Federation. Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Rus was established on 29 February 2008 and the foundation stone was laid on 5 June. The press shop was able to start the test run on 19 May 2010. On the occasion of the test run, a small opening ceremony was held among the workforce. A short time later, the pre-production of the new Solaris began, a model that is located as a hatchback in the small car segment and as a sedan in the compact class. The design of the model comes from the Fluidic Sculpture concept study. The engines used come from the Gamma series.
