Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA) is an Islamic North American grassroots umbrella organization. It seeks to propagate Islam and promote the Islamic way of life among American Muslims. It has links to the Jamaat-e-Islami in South Asia. ICNA is an offshoot of the Muslim Students' Association (MSA), and was founded by immigrants from South Asia. In 1971, a number of South Asian MSA members who had been involved in Islamic movements in their home countries developed an Islamic study circle (halaqa), in Montreal.
