Kenta Izumi (泉 健太, Izumi Kenta, born 29 July 1974) is a Japanese politician who has been the leader of the Constitutional Democratic Party of Japan (CDP or CDPJ) since 30 November 2021. He is also a member of the House of Representatives in the Diet (national legislature), currently for the Kyoto 3rd district. A native of Sapporo and graduate of Ritsumeikan University, he was elected to the House of Representatives for the first time in 2003 after an unsuccessful run in 2000. Izumi was originally a member of the Democratic Party of Japan. He later served as Diet affairs chief of Kibō no Tō. He also adhered to the Democratic Party for the People until 2020, when he joined the Constitutional Democratic Party. More information...
