Joroinen is a municipality in the North Savo region of Finland. It is located in the province of Eastern Finland and is part of the Northern Savonia sub-region. The municipality has a population of approximately 4,626 people and covers an area of 982 square kilometers. Joroinen was first mentioned in historical records in 1388, when it was part of the Kingdom of Sweden. In the 16th century, the area was briefly annexed by Russia before being returned to Sweden.
