Kuma (球磨村, Kuma-mura) is a village located in Kuma District, Kumamoto Prefecture, Japan. As of May 1, 2021 the village had an estimated population of 3,012 and a population density of 19 persons per km2. The total area is 207.73 km2. Located in the southern portion of Kumamoto Prefecture, the Kuma River flows through the center. 90% of the village is covered by forests. One of Japan's largest limestone caves, Kyūsen-dō, is located in Kuma. There are two large mountains located near Kuma village.
