Magnanville (French pronunciation: (listen)) is a commune in the Yvelines department in the Île-de-France region in north-central France. It was one of the thirty communes in the Communauté d'agglomération de Mantes-en-Yvelines, merged into the Communauté urbaine Grand Paris Seine et Oise in 2016. Until the twentieth century, Magnanville had a population of only about 100 people. The village expanded in the twentieth century, with significant house building taking place from the 1970s.
