The Middle East Media and Research Institute (MEMRI) is an American non-profit organization specialized in Arabic and Muslim media monitoring. It focuses on extremist comments by Arab and Iranian leaders and communications from terrorist groups. MEMRI was co-founded by Israeli ex-intelligence officer Yigal Carmon and Israeli-American political scientist Meyrav Wurmser in 1998. MEMRI describes itself as being independent and non-partisan.
