Javorník (Czech pronunciation: [ˈjavorɲiːk]; German: Jauernig) is a town in Jeseník District in the Olomouc Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 2,700 inhabitants. The historic town centre is well preserved and is protected by law as an urban monument zone. Villages of Bílý Potok, Horní Hoštice, Travná and Zálesí are administrative parts of Javorník. The town's name is derived from javor, i.e. "maple". Javorník is located about 23 kilometres (14 mi) northwest of Jeseník and 90 km (56 mi) north of Olomouc, on the border with Poland.
