Kyjov (Czech pronunciation: [ˈkɪjof]; German: Gaya or Geyen) is a town in Hodonín District in the South Moravian Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 11,000 inhabitants. The historic town centre is well preserved and is protected by law as an urban monument zone. The villages Bohuslavice, Boršov and Nětčice are administrative parts of Kyjov. Kyjov is located about 17 kilometres (11 mi) north of Hodonín. It is situated in the valley of the river Kyjovka. Most of the municipal territory lies in the Kyjov Hills, and a small northern part lies in the Chřiby highlands. The highest point is the hill Lenivá hora at 463 m (1,519 ft) above sea level.
