Plumlov (German: Plumenau, Blumenau or Plumau) is a town in Prostějov District in the Olomouc Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 2,300 inhabitants. Villages of Hamry, Soběsuky and Žárovice are administrative parts of Plumlov. Plumlov is located about 6 km (4 mi) west of Prostějov and 21 km (13 mi) southwest of Olomouc. It lies in the Drahany Highlands. The highest point is at 355 m (1,165 ft) above sea level. The Hloučela River flows through the town. Plumlov Dam was built on this river in 1936 and is one of the oldest in the Morava River basin. The second notable body of water next to the town is Podhradský Pond. More information...
