Sázava (Czech pronunciation: [ˈsaːzava], German: Sasau) is a town in Benešov District in the Central Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 3,800 inhabitants. Villages of Bělokozly, Černé Budy, Čeřenice and Dojetřice are administrative parts of Sázava. Sázava is located about 18 kilometres (11 mi) northeast of Benešov and 34 km (21 mi) southeast of Prague. It lies is a hilly landscape, the eastern part of the municipal territory belongs to the Benešov Uplands and the western part belongs to the Vlašim Uplands.
