Bor (German: Haid) is a town in Tachov District in the Plzeň Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 4,400 inhabitants. The historic town centre is well preserved and is protected by law as an urban monument zone. Villages of Bezděkov, Boječnice, Borovany, Čečkovice, Damnov, Doly, Hlupenov, Holostřevy, Kosov, Kurojedy, Lhota, Lužná, Málkovice, Malovice, Muckov, Nová Hospoda, Nový Dvůr, Ostrov, Skviřín, Velká Ves and Vysočany are administrative parts of Bor. Bor is located about 14 km (9 mi) southeast of Tachov and 42 km (26 mi) west of Plzeň. It lies in the Upper Palatine Forest Foothills.
