Novy Chas (Belarusian: Новы Час; New Time in English) is an independent weekly newspaper published in Belarus. Novy Chas was established on 1 March 2007 as a successor to Zgoda which was shut down in 2007. The publisher is the Frantsishak Skaryna Belarusian Language Society. The society also publishes Nasha Slova newspaper and youth magazine Verasen. Novy Chas which published weekly is headquartered in Minsk and has an independent and liberal political leaning. In June 2009, Novy Chas is the recipient of the Zeit prize awarded by Zeit-Stiftung Ebelin und Gerd Bucerius, a German foundation. As of 2010 Alyaksey Karol was the editor-in-chief of the paper.
