Dolní Věstonice (German: Unterwisternitz) is a municipality and village in Břeclav District in the South Moravian Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 300 inhabitants. It is known for the eponymous archaeological site. Dolní Věstonice lies on the border between the Mikulov Highlands and Dyje–Svratka Valley. It is located on the shore of the Nové Mlýny reservoirs. The municipality is partly located in the Pálava Protected Landscape Area. The area on the reservoir is protected as the Věstonice Reservoir Nature Reserve. More information...
