Družec is a municipality and village in Kladno District in the Central Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 1,100 inhabitants. Družec is located about 6 kilometres (4 mi) southwest of Kladno and 20 km (12 mi) west of Prague. It lies in the Křivoklát Highlands on the Loděnice River . The first written mention of Družec is from 1320. The D6 motorway from Prague to Karlovy Vary runs through the northern part of the municipality. The pilgrimage Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary was first mentioned in 1352. The originally Gothic church was rebuilt in the Baroque style in 1688–1689. More information...
