Oberhelfenschwil is a former municipality in the Wahlkreis (constituency) of Toggenburg in the canton of St. Gallen in Switzerland. On 1 January 2023 the former municipalities of Hemberg and Oberhelfenschwil merged into the new municipality of Neckertal. Oberhelfenschwil is first mentioned in 882 as Helfoltiswilare. In 1515 it was mentioned as Oberhelfenschwil. Oberhelfenschwil has an area, as of 2006, of 12.7 km2 (4.9 sq mi). Of this area, 61.7% is used for agricultural purposes, while 33.6% is forested.
