Partisan Records is a Brooklyn, NY based independent record label co-founded in 2007 by Tim Putnam and Ian Wheeler, with additional offices in London, Los Angeles and Berlin. Partisan achieved early success releases such as War Elephant by Deer Tick in 2008 and Sylvan Esso’s self-titled debut in 2014, which has gone on to sell 379,000 equivalent copies in the US. In 2019 they earned a Grammy nomination for ‘Deran’ by Bombino, followed by two more nominations in 2021 for A Hero's Death by Fontaines D.C. and Song for Our Daughter by Laura Marling. In 2020 they also achieved a #1 UK album for Ultra Mono by Idles. Idles’ ‘Crawler’ was nominated for two Grammys in 2023 for Best Rock Album + Best Rock Performance. In 2021 Femi Kuti and Made Kuti’s 2021 joint double album ‘Legacy +’ was nominated for two Grammys (Global Music Album + Global Music Performance).
