Paul Karslake FRSA (1958 – 23 March 2020) was a British artist, primarily a painter. Karslake was born in Basildon, Essex. He studied at SEEVIC College and Southend College of Art and Technology and started working with his father, Michael Karslake, an architectural model-maker working on such projects as Centre Point and the Thames Barrier. In the early 1970s Karslake was tutored by Sir Peter Scott; towards the end of that decade he met Salvador Dalí during a trip to Spain. Karslake then spent four years in California, working for the LA Art Studios, CBS Television and Disney, with whom he later collaborated on the EuroDisney project. Karslake had numerous solo exhibitions, and became famous for his depictions of celebrities such as the Rolling Stones, Johnny Depp, Michael Caine and Grace Kelly. More information...
