The company develops antiviral drugs for HIV (including racivir), hepatitis B (including clevudine, marketed as Levovir), and hepatitis C. In November 2011, Pharmasset was acquired by Gilead for $11.2 billion. Pharmasset was founded in 1998 by Raymond Schinazi and Dennis Liotta, scientists at Emory University.
